Moreton Bay is home to a massive variety of fish including tailor, flathead and whiting, and is visited by migrating species such as tuna and mackerel. The large channels running between the mainland and the Moreton Bay Islands are reasonably deep and offer great fishing opportunities from boats or the beach. Nearer the reefs you are more likely to encounter other species such as parrotfish, cobia, snapper, squire, sweetlip, cod and jewfish. Please Note: Even though the bay is a reasonably sheltered area, the winds can change direction quickly, turning conditions nasty. Make sure that you check the weather forecast before you head out.
